Vollis Simpson: North Carolina Visionary artist.....New York Times Article

There was a terrific article in the New York Times yesterday about Vollis Simpson a 91 year old retired farm equipment repairman turned artist. You can read the article here: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/04/06/arts/design/06vollis.html?src=me&ref=arts
Mr. Simpson's work is amazing. He is the creator of a huge outdoor sculpture that towers over the Visionary Art Museum in Baltimore.
While looking for images to add to this write-up (there are additional images if you click on the Times article), I found this quote: "Mr. Simpson's whirligigs are a national treasure". I second that opinion! Wow, wouldn't it be great if his work could somehow be included in the next Pittsburgh Visionary Arts Festival, which I believe occurs in summer of 2011.
